Manufacturing was done by a Swiss manufacturing group, Pope Watch Co. P-70 is the first in a series of watches that hearkens to an era in the world where innovation and design reached a pinnacle — 1930’s and 1940’s aviation.
The body is made of the highest quality stainless steel. The strap is a fine grain calf skin that is perforated for comfort. Some of the exciting design characteristics are the high quality butterfly clasp and the off-center crown for comfort and ergonomics.
Inclusion of hidden styling features is a major focus for Pope Watch Co. They worked with a renowned WWII pin-up artist to design an engraving for the back case. Against the wrist, it is just for the wearer, but was inspired by the nose art of WWII aircraft.
