NEW SEASON// Helmut Lang Pre-Fall 2012 Collection

Husband-and-wife design duo, Michael and Nicole Colovos take inspiration from a documentary about arachnids on drugs for their Pre-Fall 2012 HELMUT LANG collection. Drawing influence from the intricacies of spiderwebs when combined with the effects of various amphetamines and hallucinogens, the collection features sporadic knits, sheer looks with leather appliqués, and asymmetric cuts in a dark palette. The caffeine-induced spider’s erratic behaviour can likewise be traced through the duo’s unexpected use of deep green hues, as well as the stand-out “Cicada” printed apparel, with signature draping and minimalist construction keeping the collection within the HELMUT LANG aesthetic.
